Papua New Guinea Critical Care Nurses Society

Established in 2018, the Papua New Guinea Critical Care Nurses Society is a dedicated non-profit organization committed to enhancing the quality of critical care in Papua New Guinea. We strive to improve policies, protocols, and educational opportunities for nurses and healthcare workers, ensuring better health outcomes for critically ill patients. Driven by years of ICU experience and a passion for excellence, we support our members in adopting advanced technologies and specialized care practices to meet the evolving needs of our community.

 

Our Main Purpose

The main purpose of PNGCCNS is to advance critical care nursing in Papua New Guinea by promoting its role, enhancing professional development, maintaining high standards of care, and supporting evidence-based practices through clinical audits and research.

 

Who We Are

Papua New Guinea Critical Care Nurses Society (PNGCCNS), founded in 2020. Comprising dedicated nurses, educators, and advocates, we strive to elevate critical care standards nationwide. Through collaboration and continuous professional development, we promote evidence-based practices to ensure compassionate, high-quality patient care across Papua New Guinea.

Vision

To promote and advocate for critical care nursing through collaboration and innovative in patient, family centered community driven, integrating contemporary critical care nursing in the 20th century and beyond.

Mision

The PNGCCNS is dedicated to support and development of Critical care nurses, other health Care workers and family members who care for critically ill. PNGCCNS fosters the culture of knowledge and practice of critical care nursing through education, research advocacy and community participation.

•To provide quality care for all patients regardless of their cultural and religious background.
•Act as an intermediary in matters concerning the patient, his or her family and other staff involved in the patient’s direct care of the team.
•Develop improve and maintain the standard of practice.

Goals

Knowledge; to ensure critical care nurses have the knowledge and influence to drive quality in patient care; Standard of care and to identify critical care nursing service characteristics and contributions of nurses to patient care in this specialty. Contemporary nursing practices; to promote and provide a framework for evaluation of nursing practices within the specialty of critical care.
